Higher Ed Assistant Media Arts Professor 2011- 2018
 Documentary, Video Production, Digital Photography

"Thank you so much for the wisdom and technical knowledge you imparted to us this semester.  I have now acquired skills and know-how that I have yearned  for a long time.  I also enjoyed the camaraderie and dialog you helped create within the class.  That conversation we had after the SAE scandal was easily the best classroom discussion I have ever had.  With over 400 college credit hours under my belt now, that truly does mean something.  Thank you for being able to impart a tremendous amount of information to us in a very limited space of time.  It truly is appreciated.  I'll be looking forward to more classes in video, hopefully with you."  Scott Starr

What do you see when you look at me is a PSA EFP student Arin Alexander shot, produced, wrote, edited. Her letter( below) describes my role in helping Arin find HER voice as she explores new skills. This 60 second video illustrates one of numerous reasons why I am  drawn to helping students and clients create diverse media  - and results-  important to each of  YOU.
From narrative drama to comedy, breaking news or non fiction  to marketing, it is exciting for me to use my background to guide your goals.

This page is  devoted to all  people with a desire and courage it takes to learn new skills and  keep trying even when rejected numerous times.

It is the  power of visual storytelling (and skiing) that are my passions keeping me going when times are challenging for me too.

The  productions  and images here  represents work for assignments by my students. I am honored to be a part - large  or small -  of your production  education and journey.

"This has been the most educational, inspiring, and above all else, useful class I have taken during my career as a student at The University of Oklahoma. It is the first class I have taken that was set up to really prepare you for related work in the real world. I produced and directed a documentary that I could not be more proud of! I never would have developed the skills to accomplish this without the support of Professor Chandler. I will never forget the lessons I learned from her."

"As a class, we went out and did lighting,, took time out to get acquainted with the studios and she even offered her teleprompter to my group to use for our doc. There are a couple of things that are really admirable about Suzanne. Firstly, she's succeeded in a field that has continually tried to keep her down. Secondly, she really just wants to pass her knowledge on to kids like me...By far the best professor I've had the pleasure of being taught by. "

Music video for AVP  performed and written by student musician Tatenda Mandazza who also shot (when not in studio performing,)  edited,  and produced it.

Note from Oklahoma Watch:  " I  just wanted to thank you again for connecting Oklahoma Watch with one of your students to help us produce a promotional video about the important work we do.  Cinnamon's knowledge of video production helped us tell our story in way that we haven't been able to before. I hope that the assignment was as valuable to her as it was to us.  We appreciate the fresh perspectives that students bring to our industry and hope to find more ways to work on projects that are mutually beneficial.
Also, I sent the video she did for class to the Dean to make him aware of what students in your class helped us to accomplish! "
Dena Drabek, Chief Operating Officer Oklahoma Watch, 2015
Visual Arts student , Casey Stranahan joins my EFP class with no prior experience  with video production, She does a really nice job  introducing  her creative friends to the audience in this short film below -  as she asks :
" What makes you creative?" Please note the sound quality in the third interview when she could not use a good microphone. Hear how Hollow the sound is?   Teaching your ear about quality sound is a part of this class and takes some time.. We learn from when things are less than perfect as well as when they are well done. The singer's interview is   particularly insightful. The entire piece  is a wonderful accomplishment. So glad Casey joined our class!

Documentary student. Scott Starr, shot, produced and edited this piece - giving us a  look into his life as a non - traditional student.
Courageous and sensitive personal story as he shares  a " day in his life" working full time, outside school, while returning at age 50 to complete his degree. Scott shot most of  this piece by himself except for a few parts  where he received some help from classmates to work  behind the camera. Good job!
