"As my creative partner on complex video production and digital photo projects for over 10 years, I have found Suzanne Chandler of A Point of View Productions, LLC to be a front-line professional and talented resource for tackling the challenges of storytelling. Suzanne's experience with the camera, lighting and producing always shows on set -- whether it's the rigors of shooting in an underground mine, a placid picturesque lakeside setting or against the backdrop of the high altitude alpines. Suzanne's attention to minor details, coupled with well-rounded skills for shooting images that make a difference, makes her a powerful resource for any project. In a business where quality can be elusive, Suzanne is a rare treasure for delivering results that matter!"

Two exposures- two messages

Tip:  PLACING shadows by shooting with the light, the sun, as a rim light, adds form, texture, and 3- D   to the  2-D reality of photography.  For example,  If  you or your client want an image to illustrate the fact students are studying in the early morning, the exposure  on the top right captures that message and mood more effectively than the same composition in silhouette, below using less exposure.

Aerial Skier is a profile piece I shot and co- produced for ESPN in the Nat Sot  (Natural Sound) Style. This story earned recognition by National Press Photographer's Association in the Sports Feature category contributing to the honor I received by NPPA as a "Top 10 Photographer in the Rocky Mountains."

I was hired repeatedly  by” Real Stories” - an LA based syndicated " reality"  show - to produce, shoot, cast and direct actors (as perpetrators) in reenactments with authentic patrol officers.  With only a three-person crew total, take a look at one of the segments we did for this Hollywood client:

  •

A 29-minute documentary, "Saving Faces, Restoring Hope "is a story  I shot, edited, authored and produced highlighting a  volunteer medical mission to Vietnam ( 2010). It follows a medical team who commit 2 weeks a year ( for over 20 years) serving patients and training Vietnamese caregivers how to treat patients suffering from intentional sulfuric acid burns, birth defects, and a myriad of health problems in third world countries.

One goal of this story is to inspire viewers to volunteer with this organization - or any organization.

"Deki's Journey" is a story I shot that is one of 16 veteran profiles  in the award-winning,  full -length documentary,
V-Day 11.11.11.

A film directed  by my friend and colleague, John Goheen,it is a collection of  veteran stories intended to honor and thank all our nation's military men and women  - and their families - for their service and sacrifice.

The documentary  earned several awards- locally and nationally - including an International Silver Screen Award.

Please share the film as you wish.

Please note: the film was produced entirely
probono by all the filmmakers and everyone involved.
Feature I shot for CBS Early Show.  Fun piece illustrates good use of natural sound in a broadcast news story:

When I have the privilege to teach photography or media production, I offer a variety of assignments providing  "real world"   skills,  resulting in productions or photography  the "real world" uses.

This portrait I used to teach lighting. My students helped with all the lights . They captured each others portraits in the beautiful light, directed and composed the images, Many of my seniors  used these images for their business cards and websites after graduation.

This  "real world" video  is a HOW TO video, "How to use the Zoom H1 digital recorder."

I am really happy to have a few of my personal audio recording tips preserved in this training video

.My EFP students made it easy for an audience to learn the content - because of their well written, well produced,  beautifully shot and well paced, edited production.
BRAVO!

"What do you see when you look at me?"
produced,  written and edited  by  one of my EFP students, Arin Alexander.

This 30-second  message illustrates the power of media in student's hands.

"What do you see when you look at me?" is a  perfect  illustration of  the videos I want students  and people in general to know they can produce. Media is not only to be heard and talk over each other. Then really nobody is heard. Digital media is a wonderful why to express yourself so others can exchange new ideas and hopefully solutions to the issue  we are advocating, Digital media puts technology into diverse hands for an exchange of ideas and solutions in my perfect view, it aids inclusion  and understanding for all ages, genders and races. Media welcomes you to share stories while being creative and in this video it is  my goal to encourage some kind  of hope. This ends with a positive message AND it does all this in only 30 seconds!

As the OU SAE Fraternity bus YouTube video made national news in 2015, I asked my OU Electronic Field production students if they would respond  through media to the SAE video for one of their assignments.

This production,
" Stop the Prejudice Spread the Love "  is the work of two EFP students, Gaitlin Didiier and Trevor  Slack.

Placing affordable technology into the hands of diverse voices  was my mission as an assistant  media professor in higher education.  I work as a consultant, photographer, producer, director, non-linear editor  in all stages of production concept to completion for clients to tell stories and create media for diverse goals.

"Stop the Prejudice" earned honorable mention in a THREE state student film contest for Experimental Film.
Congratulations!

I shot this story for NBC Today Show in beautiful Beaver Creek, Colorado.

I spent two days in ski boots shooting and skiing on the mountain with camera gear.

I am a photographer AND a part-time Vail ski instructor for over 30 years.( 2023)
I credit Vail Ski Instructor training for making me into the skier who  can ski and shoot  TO THIS DAY carrying digital photo production gear weighing well over twenty five pounds.

This is a scripted video production I shot for Xcel Energy featuring employees in the field for one scene,  and five professional actors for the two remaining scenes.  My client's  pre-production planning and direction- plus dedicated team work and experience -made this creative corporate video successful.

“The client is ecstatic with their spot.  They loved working with you…   I appreciate you being able to take the ball and run with it.  The client is very happy. Thank you”
